Career Experience

I am a clinical social worker by profession. For the first 12 years of my career, I was involved with offender rehabilitation services and crime prevention programmes. I shifted my focus to education in 2013 and, until the end of 2022, I worked as a lecturer, skills facilitator, practical supervisor, and research supervisor at the social work department of my local university where I live in South Africa. Over the past ten years, I also spent a few years doing additional part-time work as a language tutor and essay reviewer.

I Love Tutoring Because

I love helping people. I believe that everyone is able to learn and grow if they have the right resources and encouragement. It gives me great joy when I am able to help a student to understand something better than before. My aim is to create a supportive environment in which to help students learn. I believe my past experiences in both social work and education is an advantage since it has made me a very empathic and patient person.
