Students Say
When it comes to professors, the vast majority at SDSU are “dedicated and eager to teach.” Moreover, they typically approach their time in the classroom with “enthusiasm” and manage to “bring life to every lecture.” Indeed, they “make learning the material easy and fun.” It’s also quite apparent that they “care about their students,” taking the time to “check in with them” and making themselves “accessible outside of the classroom.” And, as a grateful religious studies major explains, they often “inspire [you] to become a more intellectual person and involved student.”

Overview
From The School
Location
The campus' urban setting is within a 15-minute drive of downtown San Diego and the Pacific Ocean, conveniently located along the San Diego Trolley Green Line, and only two hours south of Los Angeles.
The second largest city in California, San Diego is a thriving cultural, scientific, and educational center. Proximity to the Pacific Rim and Mexico and adiverse regional population provide opportunities for valuable work and learning experiences.
Known for its near-perfect climate, miles of sandy beaches, and fun-filled waterfront activities, the San Diego region is home to a wide range of industries, from engineering and biotechnology to agriculture and tourism. The hustle and bustle of the Gaslamp Quarter and downtown neighborhoods is complemented by the charming and eclectic beach towns of Pacific Beach, Ocean Beach, Coronado and La Jolla.
San Diego offers a wide variety of social, cultural and recreational activities. There aren't many places where you can watch the sun rise in the desert, build a snowman in the mountains in the afternoon, and watch the sun set into the ocean all in one day, but this is possible in San Diego County.
Campus Facilities & Equipment
SDSU's beautiful campus is a lively mix of historical and state-of-the-art buildings spread over 280 acres of lushly landscaped grounds. The architecture reflects the diversity and history of the region, with bell towers, beautiful arched walkways, and ornamental ironwork. Although the campus is large, you can walk across it in just 20 minutes.
The exterior of the Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union draws inspiration from historic Spanish revival architecture. But internally, it is an ultramodern Double LEED Platinum certified hub for student organizations, events and activity. The Engineering and Interdisciplinary Sciences (EIS) Complex also embraces the Spanish style architecture with an interior that features the state-of-the-art labs and collaborative teaching space necessary for transformative innovation and exploration.
Off-Campus Opportunities
The San Diego region is an industry leader in biotechnology, engineering, life sciences, cybersecurity, innovation and technology, health care, and travel and tourism. Through internships, mentors, and job placements, SDSU provides students with opportunities to work in these industries throughout San Diego. This experience will prepare you for life after SDSU as you begin your career or take the next step in your educational journey. With proximity to Mexico, South America, and the eastern edge of the Pacific Rim, San Diego is also a cultural center that provides opportunities for learning experiences.
