Founded by the Sisters of St. Joseph in 1916, St. Joseph's University, New York (SJNY) has provided an affordable liberal arts education to a diverse group of students for more than 100 years. Location
St. Joseph's College, New York is located in Patchogue (SJC Long Island). SJC Long Island is located on the South Shore of eastern Long Island, just minutes from the Great South Bay, Long Island MacArthur Airport, Brookhaven National Laboratory, Orient Point and many of Long Island's ocean beaches. New York City is just a short ride on the Long Island Rail Road. SJC Long Island's campus facilities include six buildings and the state-of-the-art Outdoor Field Complex, spread over a 32-acre lakeside campus on the outskirts of Patchogue Village.
Campus Facilities & Equipment
SJC Brooklyn: The Dillon Child Study Center, one of the first campus laboratory preschools on the East Coast; state-of-the-art nursing laboratories; and a 40,000 square-foot athletic facility which includes an NCAA-regulation basketball and volleyball court, full cardiovascular and weight training rooms, dance studio and fully-equipped sports medicine suite.
SJC Long Island: The Outdoor Field Complex, a 24.8-acre state-of-the-art facility for SJC's athletic teams; Callahan Library; state-of-the-art nursing laboratories; and the Clare Rose Playhouse, a teaching facility and home of community theater productions.
Off-Campus Opportunities
SJC believes that the college experience isn't limited to its own classrooms. The Office of Career Services facilitates internship opportunities to introduce you to the workforce in locations such as federal, state and local politicians' offices, as well as employers like Microsoft, Google, NASA, Brookhaven National Laboratory, Viacom/MTV and Grant Thornton LLP. The College also provides its students with the opportunity to explore the world via its study abroad programs.
