About 25 percent of African American physicians practicing in the United States are Howard Alumni. Howard graduates secure post-graduate positions at institutions all over the country. Significant numbers enter one of the 16 residency programs at Howard University Hospital or at D.C. General Hospital, where they are also supervised by Howard faculty.
